The University of Utah football team is getting ready for the 2024 season with a strong roster led by quarterback Cameron Rising. Rising, a 6'2", 210-pound junior, is one of the top returning quarterbacks in the Pac-12 Conference. He threw for 2,493 yards and 20 touchdowns last season and led the Utes to a 9-4 record.
Other key players returning for the Utes include running back Tavion Thomas, wide receiver Devaughn Vele, and linebacker Karene Reid. Thomas rushed for 1,152 yards and 18 touchdowns last season, while Vele led the team with 70 receptions for 1,015 yards. Reid was the team's leading tackler with 102.
The Utes are also adding several talented newcomers to the roster, including quarterback Nate Johnson, running back Chris Curry, and wide receiver Makai Starks. Johnson was a four-star recruit out of California, while Curry and Starks were both three-star recruits.
With a strong returning core and a talented group of newcomers, the Utes are poised to make a run at the Pac-12 Championship in 2024.
